About the venue
Opened 1983
Opened in 1983 as the world's largest air-supported domed stadium; a C$514-million renovation in 2011 replaced the inflatable roof with a cable-supported retractable one that retracts into a central pod. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics and the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup final. Home to the BC Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps, it hosts Canada's host-nation group matches in 2026.
